Track Info
Main Track
The Main Track is a one mile oval made up of sand and loam composition and is rated one of the best surfaces in the nation for both training and racing. The surface is equal to none in terms of drainage and cushion. The Track is 75’ wide and the length of the stretch is 976’. The track supports two chutes for seven furlong races and three-eighths events. Starting Gate Schooling is available on race days between 7:30am and 10:00am. Training hours are 6:00 am through 10:00 am unless otherwise noted (Closed for harrowing between 8:30 am and 9:00am).
Turf Course
The Turf Course was completed in 1998 and is seven-eighths of a mile in circumference with an additional quarter mile chute. The width of the Turf Course is 80’ and is a Tifton #419 Bermuda Turf and supports rails settings of 0’, 12’ and 22’.
Paddock and Walking Arena
Located adjacent to the grandstand on the north end of the facility, the Paddock consists of a 14-stall covered saddling area that abuts the wood chip walking ring where the field of horses are united with their jockeys and paraded prior to each race. Once the field has circled the walking ring they proceed onto the track for the Post Parade and pre-race warm-up.

Gates open at 11:00 AM and post time for the first race is 12:25 PM, unless otherwise noted.

Fee for Grandstand admission is $2.
Clubhouse admission is $3.

Directions
From I-275:
Take Tampa Airport exit. Follow signs to Veterans Expressway. Take Expressway to exit # 4 (Hillsborough Ave). Make Left on Hillsborough Ave (west). Approximately 10 miles to Race Track Road. Make right on Race Track Road 1 mile to Tampa Bay Downs.
From Pinellas County:
On Route 19, go to the intersection with Route 580 at Countryside Mall; go east on Route 580 six miles to stoplight at Race Track Road; go left on Race Track Road one mile to Tampa Bay Downs.
From St. Petersburg:
Take the Bayside Bridge north to McMullen Booth Road; go east on Route 580 four miles to stoplight at Race Track Road; go left on Race Track Road one mile to Tampa Bay Downs.
From Pasco County:
On Route 19, go to the intersection with Tampa Road (Route 584); go east on Tampa Road seven miles to the stoplight at Race Track Road; go left on Race Track Road one mile to Tampa Bay Downs.
From New Tampa:
Go west on Bearrs Avenue. Bearrs Avenue turns into Ehrlich Road after Dale Mabry Highway. Make a left onto Gunn Highway (going southbound); then right onto Linebaugh Avenue. Travel west on Linebaugh for approximately 9 miles; then make a left onto Race Track Road.
